Translated the Danish Penal Code into English. Co-author of Introduction to Danish Criminal Law. 1980-81: pupil to Gordon Langley at Fountain Court chambers. 1981: joined chambers at 4 Paper Buildings (later named Hailsham Chambers), Inner Temple. Specialised in medical law and in particular birth injuries to children, as well as brain and spinal injuries in general. 2000: Appointed Recorder on Midland Circuit. 2003: appointed Queen's Counsel. 2017: appointed High Court Judge, assigned to Queen's Bench Division.
